A catalog keeps a collection’s product details, media and variants together, ready to sync to Meta for catalog ads.

Saving products in YieldBI and syncing them to Meta are separate steps. A saved product stays in YieldBI until you sync it.

For related setup tasks, read Connect your Meta account and Build and manage audiences.

Create a catalog

1. Open Catalogs

Check the ad account at the top, review existing catalogs so you don’t create a duplicate, then click New Catalog.

2. Fill in the details

Enter a Catalog Name your team will recognize, choose the Vertical (for example, Commerce), and add a short Description.

3. Set source of truth and currency

Choose the Source of Truth (the system that manages the catalog data, such as YBI Managed) and the Default Currency. Set currency before adding products.

4. Save

Click Save. The new catalog opens on Items, empty until you add products.

Add products

Click Add Products and choose a method. Import from website crawl and Connect data feed are marked Coming soon.

Add manually

Best for a small collection or a few quick additions. Each row is one product.

  1. Fill in Title, a unique SKU, Description, Website Link, Price and currency, and Brand. Add a Sale Price, Category or Condition if relevant.
  2. Click a row’s image to add media.
  3. For other sizes or colours, open the row menu and choose Add variant.
  4. Click Save Products. The button shows how many will be saved.

Required to save and sync: SKU, title, description, website link, price and brand. Use Clear empty rows to remove unused rows.

Upload CSV

Best when preparing many products at once.

  1. Download the YieldBI CSV or Meta CSV template.
  2. Fill in every row. Required: sku, title, price, link. Use the allowed values shown for currency, availability and condition.
  3. Drop the CSV or XLSX file into the upload area.
  4. Review the preview. The Outcome column shows create (new record) or update (changes an existing one).
  5. Resolve any blockers, then click Commit import.

The YieldBI template has no item_group_id, colour or size columns, so it doesn’t group variants.

Tip: You need at least 5 products to run Advantage+ catalog ads.

Variants vs. images

Every sellable size or colour needs its own variant record with its own SKU and images. Variants share an item_group_id.

  • Adding several colour photos to one product’s gallery does not create colour variants.
  • Duplicate item copies a record; it doesn’t create a variant. Use Add variant for that.

Media requirements

Add media from the product’s Upload, Link or Library tabs. A product can hold up to 10 images and 5 videos. The first image in the library is marked Main.

Meta’s requirements:

  • Images: 500×500 to 8192×8192 px, JPEG or PNG, max 8 MB, 1:1 works best.
  • Videos: at least 500×500 px, MP4 or MOV, max 4 GB and 4 minutes.

The upload area accepts more formats than Meta does, so check these before uploading.

Sync products to Meta

1. Check Items

The Awaiting sync card counts products not yet on Meta. Each shows pending sync status and Never synced until it’s sent.

2. Open Sync Queue

Products can be awaiting sync without being queued yet, so the Pending counter may read zero.

3. Click Sync all pending

This queues and pushes every product awaiting sync. Watch the Processing, Completed and Failed counters (the last two cover 24 hours), and click Refresh to update them.

If items fail, fix the underlying problem and click Sync all pending again to retry.

Trace changes

Open Audit Log to see each change’s Date, Action (such as Create Item), User and Details. Match the SKU in Details to the product you’re investigating.
