On this page

Use a Clothes & Props node when your creative needs a wardrobe piece or full look (Outfit), or a handheld, set or scene object (Prop). You can show both on the same actor from a Cast node.

For related setup tasks, read Create a cast character and Create a location.

Create an outfit

1. Add the node and choose Outfit

Add a Clothes & Props node and select it. Choose Outfit, enter a descriptive Name, and click Add outfit.

2. Describe the look

In AI custom instructions, describe the outfit and the setting, lighting or situation it’s for. Add Reference images if you have them.

3. Choose who wears it

Pick a sheet mode:

  • Product-free: no person, for a flat-lay or hero shot.
  • AI model: a generated model.
  • Linked cast: an actor from a connected Cast node. Check the Linked actor, or click Unlink.

4. Pick a template and render

Choose a Sheet template (Full set, Flat-lay or On model), aspect ratio and quality, then generate.

5. Choose the hero image

Open the sheet, click Select hero image, frame the crop in the circle, and click Use as hero image.

Example instructions:

Relaxed morning-at-home look, soft natural light, comfortable everyday clothes a Shopify store owner would wear at the kitchen table.

Turn on Use custom prompt only if you want your instructions alone to describe the item, ignoring the node’s other selections.

Create a prop

Props use the same flow. Choose Prop, name it (for example, Water bottle), describe it, then set the details below.

1. Add prop details

Pick a Category, add up to 4 Colours (swatch or hex) and any Materials. Use the sliders for Formality, Boldness, Vintage, Texture and Wear.

2. Choose the sheet mode

Use Product-free for the prop alone, or Linked cast to show it with your actor.

3. Add companion clothing (with Linked cast)

Under Companion clothing, click Select and pick the outfit the actor should wear with the prop.

4. Pick a template, render and choose the hero

Prop templates are Full set, Hero and In use. Generate, then select the hero image as for outfits.

Tip: To show an outfit and a prop together on the same actor: create the outfit first, then on the prop choose Linked cast and select that outfit as Companion clothing.

Render settings

Choose Aspect ratio (Square 1:1, Landscape 3:2, Portrait 2:3), Quality (Low, Medium, High), Provider and Model. Check the model’s displayed price and reference-image limit. The Quality inside Render model is a separate setting from the one above it, so check both.

Review the result

Ctrl-click (Windows) or Cmd-click (Mac) a generated image to preview it. Check the views and details against your brief, such as fabric close-ups for an outfit or scale for a prop. If it needs changes, update the instructions or settings and generate again before choosing a hero image.
